About the university

Mohawk College is a public college in Hamilton, Ontario, about an hour from Toronto and an hour from Niagara Falls. Its main campus is Fennell Campus, its health programmes are taught at the Institute for Applied Health Sciences on the McMaster University campus, and skilled trades are taught at Stoney Creek.

Mohawk is known for engineering technology, computing and health programmes, many with paid co-op terms accredited by CEWIL Canada. Its advanced diplomas in electrical, mechanical and computer engineering technology combine three years of study with co-op work terms.

Indian students look at Mohawk for its PGWP-eligible technology and health programmes and for fees of about CAD 20,000 a year. Since 2024 Mohawk has suspended several international programmes and intakes (for example Applied Artificial Intelligence and the Bachelor of Analytics and Data Management), so check that your programme and intake are open before you apply.

Hamilton is a large city at the western end of Lake Ontario. Rents are generally lower than in Toronto, but budget for housing early.
