About the university
BITS Pilani is one of India's leading private engineering institutions, founded in Pilani, Rajasthan, in 1964 and recognised as an Institution of Eminence. Its Dubai campus opened in 2000 in Dubai International Academic City and teaches the same B.E. curriculum, credit system and Practice School model as the Indian campuses.
The Dubai campus offers 14 B.E. programmes, including computer science, electronics and computer engineering, mathematics and computing, electrical and electronics, mechanical (with an aerospace specialisation), robotics and industrial automation, civil, chemical and biotechnology. It also runs M.E., MBA and PhD programmes.
Unlike the Indian campuses, admission to Dubai does not require BITSAT: students with 60% in Class 12 and 60% in the main science subjects can apply directly. A good BITSAT score still helps, because it brings first-year scholarships of 25–75%. Merit scholarships based on Class 12 marks range from 10% to 50%.
Tuition is AED 55,500 a year for 2026-27, and the campus has its own hostel (AED 15,500 a semester plus mess). For Indian families this is a way to get a BITS degree while living in Dubai, with Practice School internships in the UAE and India.
