About the university

Gisma University of Applied Sciences is a private, state-recognised university with its main campus in Potsdam and a second campus in Berlin. It began in 1999 in Hanover as GISMA Business School, offering MBAs with partner universities, and gained university of applied sciences status in 2021. It is part of GUS Germany, a group of private higher education providers.

Gisma is a business and technology school. All its degrees are taught in English, across business management, international business, data science and AI, computer science, software engineering and digital transformation, plus a Global MBA.

Indian students look at Gisma because it has four intakes a year, no German requirement, a one-year master's track for applicants with enough prior credits, and a 30 ECTS Pre-Master's semester for those whose bachelor's does not fit. Fees are much higher than at public German universities, so compare carefully before you commit.

Potsdam sits next to Berlin and is linked to it by regional trains and the S-Bahn. Most students live in or around Berlin, where housing is tight and expensive, so plan your accommodation early.
