About the university
Hof University of Applied Sciences (Hochschule Hof) is a public university of applied sciences in Upper Franconia, in the north-east of Bavaria, founded in 1994. It has about 3,800 students and more than 40 practice-oriented bachelor's and master's programmes in business, computer science, engineering and design.
Its Graduate School runs English-taught, fee-paying master's for graduates with work experience: MBAs in General Management and in Digitalization and Innovation, an MBA and Engineering in Operational Excellence, and an MEng in Software Engineering for Industrial Applications.
Indian students choose Hof for the low cost of living, a small campus, and a Housing Office that places international students in residences. Several English-taught programmes still ask for basic German (A1 or A2), which helps with internships.
Hof is a small town close to the borders with Saxony and the Czech Republic. Rents are low by German standards: Hof estimates total living costs of about €820–€1,020 a month.

Admission requirements
Undergraduate
- Your school certificate is checked by uni-assist first, which issues a VPD; then apply through Hof's PRIMUSS portal.
- Indian applicants must have an APS certificate; Hof cannot admit you without it.

- English-taught programmes need IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90 and usually basic German.
Postgraduate

- Most non-EU master's applicants go through uni-assist; some can apply directly on PRIMUSS.
- Applying through PRIMUSS is free; uni-assist charges a handling fee.
- APS certificate required for applicants with Indian qualifications.
