About the university

Munich Business School (MBS) is a private, state-recognised business school in Munich with more than 1,000 students from over 80 countries. It gained AACSB accreditation in 2025, which MBS says places it among the top 6% of business schools worldwide.

MBS teaches only business. Its master's programmes are 100% in English and last 18 months, including a semester abroad (24 months for the dual-degree route): International Business with seven specialisations, Finance, AI Transformation, International Marketing and Brand Management, and Sports Management and Media. It also runs a 12-month full-time MBA and a Bachelor in International Business with an English track.

For Indian students, MBS offers English teaching and two intakes a year in Munich. Unlike public universities it charges tuition, so compare the €25,740 master's fee with free public options. MBS says Indian applicants may need an APS certificate, and those with certain degrees may also need a dMAT result.

Budget carefully for housing: MBS's partner residences cost €700–1,260 a month.

Admission requirements

Undergraduate

  • A school-leaving qualification that gives university access in Bavaria; MBS points to uni-assist's admission check for international certificates. Check early whether an Indian Class 12 certificate is enough or whether you need the Pre-Bachelor.
  • You can apply with your three most recent school reports and send the final certificate before you start.
  • Monthly application rounds, each closing on the 15th; places are limited.

Postgraduate

  • A bachelor's degree of at least 180 ECTS. Business, management and economics graduates apply directly; others can qualify through MBS's online Pre-Master.
  • Shortlisted applicants have a 30–45 minute interview, on campus or on Microsoft Teams, which may include a case study.
  • Full-time MBA: any recognised degree plus at least two years of relevant work experience after it.
  • Non-EU deadlines: 30 April for September and 31 October for February. MBS asks Indian applicants to allow an extra month for the visa, and says you may need an APS certificate (and, for some degrees, a dMAT result).

Documents

  • Online application with answers to motivation questions
  • CV (and photo for the bachelor's)
  • Degree certificate and transcripts, or Class 12 mark sheet and school reports
  • English test result (unless waived)
  • One-page personal statement if you apply for a scholarship
  • APS certificate and dMAT result where MBS asks for them
