About the university
Technological University Dublin was created in 2019 when Dublin Institute of Technology merged with the Institutes of Technology at Blanchardstown and Tallaght, becoming Ireland's first technological university. Its roots go back to Dublin's technical schools of the late nineteenth century.
TU Dublin focuses on applied, career-oriented education in computing, engineering, business, hospitality and culinary arts, and science. Its main city campus is at Grangegorman, a large new campus in north-central Dublin, with further campuses in Blanchardstown and Tallaght.
Its fees are among the lowest of Dublin's public universities: many one-year business MSc courses cost €13,500 for 2026/27, engineering master's €14,500, and computer science and data analytics courses €21,750. Several courses are conversion programmes for graduates from other fields.
TU Dublin's location gives easy access to Dublin's technology and multinational employers. Master's graduates can usually stay in Ireland on Stamp 1G for up to 24 months to look for work.
