About the university

Zuyd University of Applied Sciences is a public university of applied sciences in Limburg, in the south of the Netherlands, with campuses in Maastricht, Heerlen and Sittard. Its homepage says the Keuzegids 2026 rated it the best large university of applied sciences in the Netherlands.

Like other Dutch universities of applied sciences, Zuyd teaches practical, profession-focused degrees with projects for real companies and long internships. Its English-taught bachelor's include International Business, European Studies and Applied Data Science & Artificial Intelligence in Maastricht, and Circular Cities & Communities in Heerlen. The Hotel Management School Maastricht runs an English track too.

Indian students look at Zuyd for English-taught bachelor's in business, data science and AI, and hotel management, and for the NL–Zuyd Excellence Scholarship, which combines the €5,000 NL Scholarship with up to €3,600 off tuition.

Maastricht is a historic university city close to the Belgian and German borders, so students can easily travel within Europe.
