About the university

Brunel University of London received its Royal Charter in 1966. It has a single, self-contained campus in Uxbridge, west London, where students live and study in one place.

Brunel is known for engineering, computer science, business and health courses with a practical, industry-linked focus. Many master's courses offer an optional placement route of up to two years or more. It climbed 32 places to 353rd in the QS World University Rankings 2027.

For Indian students, the draw is a London university with a campus feel. Most master's courses cost £25,535 a year for 2027/28, there are January and September starts, and self-funded international students can receive an automatic £4,000 or £6,000 fee reduction depending on their degree class. Campus accommodation is guaranteed for international students who apply by the deadline.

The campus is in Uxbridge, a town in the London Borough of Hillingdon on the western edge of London, with Underground links into central London. It suits students who want London access with a quieter, campus-based student life.

Admission requirements

Undergraduate

  • Course pages list A-level offers (for example ABB for Computer Science BSc) and an international entry selector for Class 12 equivalents.

  • A 2:1 or equivalent qualifies you for the £6,000 Vice-Chancellor's award; a 2:2 for the £4,000 bursary (both need the £5,000 deposit paid on time).

  • IELTS for UKVI or another accepted SELT if you need one for your visa
