About the university

Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU) opened in 1962 as a teacher training college, set up to meet a national shortage of Church of England school teachers. It gained degree-awarding powers in 1995 and full university title in 2005, and now has campuses in Canterbury and Medway.

CCCU grew from teacher training into health, creative and professional subjects, and today teaches business, computing, engineering, health and law too. It holds a Silver rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework.

For Indian students the key points are a flat master's fee (£17,000 in 2026/27) with an automatic £1,500 International Student Scholarship, an English waiver for 65% in CBSE or ISC Class 12 English, and January starts on some business and public health master's courses. CCCU asks Indian applicants to apply through an approved agent.

Canterbury is a historic cathedral city in Kent, in south-east England. First-year students are guaranteed university accommodation if they apply by 31 July.
