About the university

King's College London was founded in 1829 and now has five campuses across London. Fourteen people from King's and its associated institutions have won the Nobel Prize, and its nursing faculty descends from the world's first professional nursing school, founded by Florence Nightingale in 1860.

King's is strong in health and life sciences, law, business, humanities and social sciences, and computer science. Its Department of Informatics is based in Bush House on the Strand campus and teaches popular master's courses in data science, AI and cyber security.

Around 740 students a year join King's from South Asia, and the university has active Indian student societies. Entry is competitive: most business and informatics master's ask for a high 2:1 (65% in UK marking), and King's charges a £130 application fee for taught master's courses.

King's campuses sit in the heart of London, along the Thames near Somerset House and the South Bank. London offers large job markets in finance, technology and health, but living costs are high.
