About the university
Swansea University was founded in 1920 and celebrated its centenary in 2020. It is a dual-campus university: Singleton Park Campus and the beach-fronted Bay Campus, where engineering, computer science and the School of Management courses on this page are taught. Both campuses are in seafront locations close to the city centre.
Swansea is known for engineering (aerospace, civil, mechanical, electrical and chemical), computer science, management and finance, and health. It reached its highest ever position in the THE World University Rankings 2027 (351–375) and is 322nd in the QS World University Rankings 2027.
For Indian students the main draws are a top-350 world ranking, January starts on many master's, and the automatic £4,000 Thrive Bursary for students domiciled in India. Swansea also accepts 70% or more in Class 12 English from CBSE or CISCE as equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
Swansea is a coastal city in south Wales. Swansea says 97% of students surveyed would recommend the university.
