About the university
The University of Bath received its Royal Charter in 1966. It has about 21,500 students, most of them on a single green campus at Claverton Down, a short bus ride from the centre of Bath.
Bath is best known for engineering, computer science, management, economics and sport science, and for its placement year: most undergraduates spend a year working in industry or studying abroad. It is regularly placed in the UK top 10 by national league tables, and was 8th in both The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2027 and the Guardian University Guide 2027.
Indian students mainly look at Bath for one-year master's courses in data science, artificial intelligence, computer science, finance and management. Fees are higher than at many UK universities, but Bath offers a £5,000 Merit Scholarship that is applied automatically to eligible offer-holders from India in most faculties, and £10,000 Global Excellence and School of Management scholarships.
Bath is a small, historic city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its Roman Baths and Georgian architecture. It is safe and walkable, and Bristol and London are easy to reach by train.
