About the university
The University of Glasgow was founded in 1451 by a papal bull and is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world. Its neo-Gothic main building on Gilmorehill, in the city's West End, is one of the best-known university buildings in the UK. The economist Adam Smith and the physicist Lord Kelvin both taught here.
Glasgow is a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities. Its Adam Smith Business School holds triple-crown accreditation, and the College of Science and Engineering teaches computing, data and engineering courses that are popular with Indian students.
Most taught master's courses on this page cost £34,815 a year for international students, with finance and management courses at £37,089 to £38,670. The university runs a World Changers India Excellence Award worth £12,500 and a World Changers Glasgow Scholarship of £5,000 for Indian applicants.
Glasgow is Scotland's largest city, known for its music, galleries and friendly people. Living costs are generally lower than in London or Edinburgh. The university has in-country teams in New Delhi and Bangalore, and an active Indian student community.
