About the university
The University of Sussex received its Royal Charter on 16 August 1961, the first of seven new universities created in the UK after the Second World War. It celebrated 60 years in 2021.
Sussex is a research university with courses across business, computing and AI, engineering, social sciences and health. Its University of Sussex Business School teaches many of the Masters popular with Indian students, such as Management, International Management, Business Analytics and Project Management.
Indian students look at Sussex for its campus near Brighton, January starts on several business Masters, and an Indian entry standard of 50% to 65% in a bachelor's degree depending on your university. Most Masters on this page need IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each component.
The Falmer campus is on the outskirts of Brighton, within easy reach of London and the major airports at Gatwick and Heathrow.

- Full-time Masters
Chancellor's International Scholarship (2026 entry scheme)
Value: £5,000 off tuition fees; the strongest applicants from India and some other countries could combine it with a Country Scholarship up to £10,000
Eligibility: For 2026 entry, Indian applicants needed a bachelor's degree with 3.75/4 or 8.5/10 or higher and an offer. Details for 2027/28 entry were not yet set when we checked.

Value: £5,000 for students assessed as Overseas for fees (£3,000 for Home)

Admission requirements
Undergraduate
- Year 1 entry: a typical offer is 80% overall in Standard XII from CBSE; other listed boards are also considered.
- International Foundation Year: a pass in Standard XII (any board) with 60% overall.
- Year 2 entry may be possible after a first year at a recognised university with a 50–70% weighted average and no resits.
Postgraduate
- A bachelor's degree with overall marks typically between 50% and 65%, depending on your university and the Masters course.
- Some courses ask for a related subject; for example Business Analytics needs business, economics, finance, statistics, engineering, science, computing or maths.
- A self-funded international student must pay a tuition fee deposit after accepting an offer.

How much is a Masters at Sussex?
For 2027/28, most business, finance and engineering Masters on this page cost £25,700. Data Science and Financial Data Analytics are £24,200, and AI, the MBA and some others are £28,100.

Sussex says overall marks typically range from 50% to 65%, depending on your university and the course.
Is there a January intake?
